Launched in May 2019, the TRESemmé Salon Programme has helped stylists  with valuable business and practical skills that have made a change in their lives

Since the pandemic, small businesses have faced the challenge of dwindling customers, lack of funds and social distancing regulations.  TRESemmé has helped come to the business rescue through the  TRESemmé Salon Programme, by investing R8 million to ensure that over 240 salons nationwide have been able to receive infrastructure, hair care products, branding, advertising materials, personal protective equipment and sanitisation- helping 1200 hair stylists as a result. Three women share their success journey:

Tshireletso Yvonne Diogo, owner of Nubian Crown Hair Studio in Hyde Park

The TRESemme Salon Programme has been a blessing. My team and I were able to resume operations in August after months of no income and cash flow because of the pandemic. Without the products the brand supplied, opening my salon again would’ve been difficult.

Hlengiwe Ntombela, owner of Nacay Beauty Salon in Mowbray, Cape Town

When I started my business, I had no financial support and had to save money to start my business. The TRESemmé Salon Programme was instrumental at the beginning, by offering my salon great quality products, which is one of the biggest expenses along with the rent. Since then, I have been able to have a bit of disposable income to help run my charitable scheme, which feeds homeless people around my area. I have also been able to train more stylists and grow my team.

Sthokozile Sthoks Malinga, owner of Pepita Hair and Beauty Salon in Glenwood, Durban (Near UKZN)

When we launched our business, we started with a lot of passion and no products. We were hoping that TRESemmé would find us. TRESemmé has made life so much easier. Considering the pandemic, we were able to move our communication with our loyal clients online, through our social platforms, and give away products to enable them to continue taking care of their hair at home. In turn, as soon as we were able to operate again, that very clientele came back with much-appreciated business.

This programme has encouraged clients to ask questions about TRESemmé products and trial the brand, increasing clients for these businesses even during the pandemic. It will continue providing valuable education on how TRESemmé’s products can address different hair needs and care for all hair types, especially afro-textured and curly hair.

More details about the application to the TRESemmé Salon Programme will be announced soon.
