British pop group, Coldplay and Pharell Williams have joined forces with Jozzy for a new song “E-Lo” that will appear on a Global Citizen EP
In a gesture to outlive the one day Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 on 2 December 2018, Coldplay will release a four-track EP this Friday, 30 November 2018 on digital platforms through Atlantic Records, Rolling Stone reports.
The EP also features David Guetta, Stormzy, Stargate, Cassper Nyovest, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, to name a few. Coldplay manager Dave Holmes, who co-curated the festival with Martin, said in a press release, “It was a real honour to help further the Global Citizen movement by putting together this release alongside Chris and Parlophone. We’ve ended up with so many incredible performers, and we’re all extremely proud of the finished EP. May it be the first of many.”
E-Lo is co-written by Chris Martin, Will Champion, Jonny Buckland, and Guy Berryman. Proceeds from the EP will benefit Global Citizen’s various efforts to end extreme poverty around the world by 2030. The organization also spearheads projects in areas such as gender equality, education, water, and sanitation, which many celebrities are a part of. Chris Martin is the curator of Global Citizen’s annual concerts, held in New York and now in South Africa.
