When it comes to intimate-wear sexiness and comfort should be a match made in heaven. Four, black women have mastered just that with their brands
The internet went into a frenzy when the queen of…everything, Rihanna finally debut her lingerie line, Savage x Fenty on 11 May 2018. Although the line got mixed reviews from fans and lingerie lovers, it’s still an intimate collection worth looking watching out for. The best part, it’s available to the South African market, so you can shop and tell if the line was worth the wait and noise. Here are other intimate-wear collections created by some of our favourite, young, female hustlers:
Savage x Fenty
Distraction by Bonang, Available at Woolworths:
Bonang Matheba is one woman who needs no introduction and has, again proudly put South Africa on the global map recently when she hosted the Global Gift Nelson Mandela Centenary Dinner in London. The media personality has been collaborating with Woolworths to release her sizzling Distraction by Bonang line and feasted our eyes with the AW 2018 collection.
Thabooty’s Underwear and shapewear:
The South African actress, MC, presenter, DJ and brand ambassador, Thando Thabethe launched her intimate-wear line in November 2017 and says she wanted to create something that doesn’t make women feel like they are wearing a blanket underneath their clothes. She has the likes of fitness influencer, Sbahle Mpisane model her line, which is available on Zando and Spree.
Gugu Nkabinde told Elle magazine that she began her entrepreneurial journey at the end of 2015 and conceptualised a skin-coloured intimate wear for black women for eighteen months before officially launching it in July 2017.
