The Abalele hitmaker, Ami Faku, joins the exclusive Spotify club, clocking over 500k monthly listeners. Plus, she shares her success tips
Adding to her list of impressive achievements, Ami Faku joins an exclusive club of musicians on Spotify to reach over 500k monthly listeners on the streaming platform. Ami Faku’s new feat makes her the second South African female artist to ever reach this milestone.
About this achievement, she tells KDanielles Media that it took a great amount of growth to get to where she is and that it wouldn’t be possible without the support she has received since pursuing her dream. She tells us that success is all about being consistent, minding her own business and making good music that will get her where she wants to be. “I have learned that the music industry is a tough game. You have to be in it because you have a passion for it and know why you do it. It is also exhausting but rewarding,” she adds.
Her success tips for young people?
“Work hard and something will eventually happen. If you don’t do anything nothing will happen. Things will work out in the end. It took me calling the music director of The Voice SA, after I was eliminated, and he helped me record music, which reached the right ears, who are my now my management team. I was using a lot of probability and making sure that I was at the right place and with the right people.
