International Emmy nominee Thuso Mbedu makes it to Vogue UK list of rising stars to watch from the biggest releases on Amazon Prime
The 28-year-old award-winning actress has been hard at working building her brand, and the reward? Two international Emmy nominations and starring in The Underground Railroad, the TV adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize-winning 2016 novel by Colson Whitehead. Vogue added that the TV series is guaranteed to be a huge moment for the actress, and we couldn’t agree more.

Mbedu announced in April 2019 that she bagged the lead role in the series, which will follow Cora’s journey across 11 one-hour episodes. The Underground Railroad is set to be released soon on Amazon Prime.
The actress shared the great news to her million Instagram followers yesterday, and stars such as Miss Universe 2019 Zozibini Tunzi and Dineo Moeketsi have praised her for the milestone.
