End off the month of love by treating your partner with these delicious desserts prepared by you and The Lazy Makoti.
Delicious Berry Dessert
1 cup flour
1 tbsp castor sugar
½ cup butter, cold
1 egg, lightly beaten
2 tbsp cold water
2 tubs cream cheese
1/4 cup honey
3 cups variety of berries
¼ c granadilla pulp
Preheat oven to 180
Grease and prepare a tart dish
Sift flour and sugar, add butter and rub with fingers until crumbly.
Add egg and mix together. Blend in cold water and chill for 30 min in fridge
Roll out pastry and cover the tart dish
Prick pastry with fork and bake in oven for 15 min till golden brown
Remove from oven and set aside to cool completely
In large mixing bowl, add cream cheese and honey and mix well
Pour into prepared pastry case and garnish with fruit
Drizzle the granadilla pulp and serve
CHOCOLATE HEART BLOSSOMS
(for 9 pastries)
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 3 tablespoons raspberry jam
- 1 egg wash
- 1 powdered sugar, to taste
Preheat oven to 400˚F (200˚C).
Cut the puff pastry into 9 equal squares.
Taking one of the squares, place 1 teaspoon of raspberry jam in the centre.
Brush egg wash on each side of the square.
Take each corner and bring them together the seal the jam inside the dough
Flip so the pinched side is on the underside. Flatten with the palm of your hand until the patty is about 1-inch thick.
Make 8 even cuts around the circle making sure the cuts do not touch in the centre.
Take 2 of the cut sections and turn them inward to create the heart shape. Repeat with the other 6 sections.
Repeat with the remaining pastry squares.
Bake for 15–20 minutes until pastry is golden brown and puffed.
