After releasing his 31-track album in 2020 entitled To the World and Beyond, the momentum has not slowed down with his new offering
There’s no stopping renowned producer Sun-EL Musician, whose 2020 album earned him over 50 million streams, nominations, and awards, and global press recognition. He has been hard at work diving deep into his past influences and future sounds and really homing in on defining what he believes to be a new genre AEDM (African Electronic Dance Music), which is now live as his latest musical offering. He shares more:
What is African Electronic Dance Music?
I would define it as not just a sound that designates a single genre but more of a sound that encompasses a style of African elements infused with EDM. It’s a modern way of exporting the African dance sound (house music) to the rest of the world by giving it that African traditional elements of drums, rhythm, and culture.
What is different about this EP?
The 11 track AEDM EP is interspersed with some strong electronic/afro house instrumentals and some striking new driving tracks.
Which artists did you feature in this EP?
Look out for ‘Bestfriend’ featuring Msaki, ‘Higher’ featuring Simmy and ‘I Like It Anyway’ featuring Ami Faku.
