Award-winning actor and DJ Idris Elba will host the Africa Day Benefit Concert At Home in partnership with ViacomCBS Networks Africa and YouTube.
What better way to celebrate Africa Day than enjoy a bit of entertainment from our favourite African artists? The entertainment industry has taken a huge knock as a result of Covid-19, but thanks to technology, many were able to connect and even entertain their fans. On Africa Day, on 25 May 2020, artists such as Sho Madjozi, Nasty C, AKA, Tiwa Savage, Sauti Sol, Yemi Alade, Teni and Angelique Kidjo, to name a few, will be part of the two-hour concert, which the actor will be hosting.

Elba took the announcement to Instagram, saying, “Let’s unite to celebrate AfricaDay and raise funds for those impacted by COVID19. Africa Day Benefit Concert is hosted by me, Idris on 25th May – MTV Base’s YouTube page.”
Earlier this year, Elba announced to his fans that he contracted the coronavirus while on set and was quarantining.
