30 Things To Do For Yourself In Your 30sYour 30s are a new chapter where you get to discover and learn more about yourself, while working your way to success. If you recently turned 30, here are 30 things to do for yourself

On October 1, I turned 30. Before my birthday I was really anxious, and to a degree depressed because I feared I didn’t achieve most of the things I thought I would tick off the bucket list by then. My career and business dreams hadn’t materialised the way I thought they would, my relationship was rocky and my spiritual well-being was disastrous. But somehow, I found myself embracing this new decade of my life and felt grateful for life itself because we tend to take it for granted. In this chapter of my life, I want to commit to these 30 things. I hope you will try some of them as well:

  • Put yourself first and don’t let anyone make you feel less important.
  •   Not everyone is meant to be a part of your life forever, let go of people who don’t add value to your life.
  • Choose to be the best version of yourself.
  • Start practising positive self-affirmations and believe you are worthy.
  • Save up for that one trip you have always had on your bucket list (Phuket here I come).
  • Treat yourself to one investment item you have always wanted (from clothing, to a new technological gear).
  • Start looking into long-term investment options from reputable financial institutions and invest your money.
  • Create a monthly budget for your expenses and prioritise saving. Stretch your money further by hustling on the side.
  • Dedicate this time of your life in following a career or business path you are really passionate about.
  • Consider mentoring someone who needs career guidance.
  • Choose a charitable cause close to your heart that you can take part in.
  • Further your skills. There are countless affordable online courses, such as Educate24 that will equip you with skills to progress in your career.
  • Be kinder to yourself.
  • Make time for your family and your loved ones.
  • Start living a healthier lifestyle.
  • Have a gratitude journal and list things you are grateful for every day.
  • Invest in a career or life coach. Sometimes, we tend to feel stuck in our lives. A coach will help you move forward.
  •  Create a welcoming home environment that allows you to unwind after a long day at the office.
  • Nurture your relationship with your partner, friends and family.
  • Revisit or create a vision board for the life you want to live.
  • Live a purposeful life. Start creating specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and timely goals and do something each day to reach them.
  • Celebrate all your achievements and learn from your mistakes.
  • Meditate, rest and pray more often. Your spiritual and emotional well-being is just as important as the dreams you are chasing.
  • Go for regular check-ups. Your health should be your number one priority.
  • Read more. Create a culture of reading any books that are of interest to you. There is so much to learn from and be inspired by in books.
  • Start doing things that really make you happy and fulfilled.
  • Don’t look for validation elsewhere. Be satisfied with doing your best because whether people admit it or not, they notice you.
  • Be humble at all times, no matter how successful you are. Humility will take you far in life.
  • Let go of grudges and resentment.
  •  Most importantly, live life to the full, make the most of what you have and trust that there is more to come.
