Men’s Health in association with Dunhill Century Fragrance and BMW X4 hosted its annual Menswear Collection event at Joburg City Auto on Thursday 27 September 2018.
The show featured the latest ready-to-wear apparel from some of the most popular South African and international menswear brands, providing a world-class platform to showcase some of the most current fashion collections.
Launched in 2007, the Menswear show has cemented its presence as one of the must-attend events on the fashion calendar with celebrities, stylists, local fashion icons, trendsetters all gathering under one roof to celebrate South Africa’s leading fashion brands on the runway.
Says Men’s Health Fashion Editor Azeez Jacobs; “Key this season are textured jackets, sharp and lightweight tailoring and a general sense of youthful subversion. There will also be an athletic thread, sweatshirt fabrics and sweat shorts for summer. Denim will also dominate the runway, but this time we’ll get to see edgier and lighter versions. Don’t forget about colour this season, it’s still going strong, from brights to pastels and muted tones. “
The brands that graced the runway were: Woolworths David Jones, Woolworths Edition, Woolworths Studio W, Country Road, TM Lewin, Duca Del Cosma collaborating with local designer Craig Jacobs, Ramsay, Kappa, Guess, Soviet, Polo and Antony Morato showcasing their SS18 collections for men.
Men’s Health cover models Buntu Matshaya, Nicholas Dunn, Kallis Eksteen, Max Mmethi, Marcel Snyman, Trevor Largerwey, Pabs Nasius, Mandla Joshue Dube together with familiar tv personalities Lunga Shabalala, Fez Mkhize, Chris Jaftha, Kat Sinivasan, Eden Claasen, Ryke De Morny and Tino Chinyani all strutted their stuff much to the crowds delight.
Guests were treated to a cameo performance by NaakMusiq and the all-new BMW X4 made a surprise appearance in the show. DJ Kyle Cassim ensured that guests were entertained late into the night.
The official grooming partner Woolworths Longmarket Barber treated models and guests to a one-of-a-kind gentleman’s experience of gaming and grooming touch-ups.
