Life can present a lot of challenges that can either build you up or set you back. Here’s how you can turn your setbacks into comebacks
Imagine losing your parents, your friends, your job, your house and car and even a partner that you thought you’d spend the rest of your life with. Life can throw a lot of lemons, and sometimes all at once, without giving you the chance to catch your breath. Challenges are a guaranteed part of life and even though they give you hidden lessons they can destroy someone’s hope and make them give up completely. There isn’t a single person in this world who hasn’t gone through hard times, but it’s how we respond to what life throws at us that reveal our true characters. Even toddlers go through the challenges of stumbling and falling when they learn how to walk, but they don’t give up as much as we do. If you considered giving up on life, your business or your career, here are a few ways you can make a come back:
Try to find the lesson behind what you are going through: Each hurtful experience gives you an opportunity to learn and even do something. Have you recently lost your job? Maybe this is the Universe’s way of challenging you to do start the business you have always wanted or make the career shift you have considered for a while.
Lean on the support of your loved ones: Often, challenges reveal who your true friends are, embrace them. When your friends and family want to be there for you, allow them to. Pain is a lonely place to be and it breeds depressing and suicidal thoughts. Don’t give in to the temptation of always pushing people away and wanting to be alone. Reach out and find the help you need.

Never let go of your vision: When things don’t go as planned it’s easy to give up or believe that maybe things are not meant to be. Imagine if best selling author JK Rowling gave up on publishing Harry Potter after being rejected by the first publisher, she wouldn’t be where she is today. Don’t let a few setbacks or nos deter you from fulfilling your dreams. Not everyone will believe in you or in your vision as much as you do, in fact, many will discourage you, so don’t lose sight of your vision. No matter what.
Let it go: The first step to letting go of anything is to accept that you cannot undo the past. Let go of the people and the things that are no longer part of your life. If you look deeper maybe your past experiences were too toxic and God was tired of seeing your pain. Let go of your past to make way for bigger and better things that are meant to be in your life.
Turn your lemons into lemonades, after all, David Brinkley couldn’t have said it better when he mentioned that a successful (wo)man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him.
