We all define success differently. But the one thing we share in common is that we want to reach it, no matter what it takes. There are many successful people I have always drawn inspiration from, especially in the media space as it has always been my passion. Had I not followed their success stories I would have easily given up my passion but it’s their drive and determination to rise above challenges that also inspires me to keep going. Sometimes, all we need is a bit of inspiration from the people we look up to. This is the reason I started this online platform. To inspire you to follow your dreams no matter how farfetched they seem. If you read the success stories of other young people profiled in this online platform you will see that most of them only had a dream and passion as their resource to launch their successful businesses and careers. I have learned that the road to success needs consistency and for you to give up the following habits:
Give up on making excuses: Life is a rollercoaster to everyone. And this is what successful people are aware of. They don’t make any excuses for anything and manage to turn their lemons into lemonades.
Give up procrastination: Life is too short to live in fear or idleness. Success requires hard work and taking risks. There is no better time to follow your dreams than today. Use the resources you have and knock on as many doors as you can, you will be surprised at how much people are willing to help you reach your goals.
Give up on instant gratification: Social media and the take-away culture we have adopted has made us believe that success and wealth is instant. Rome wasn’t built in one day and neither is any successful brand.
Give up comparing yourself to others: Life is a journey and not a race. Never measure your worth by comparing yourself to others. Slay in your lane and make every moment of your life count.
Give up on not taking care of yourself: I know I have to practice what I preach here but sleep was designed for an important purpose. Always make time to rest and to take good care of your body and mind, through a healthier lifestyle.
Give up toxic people: I am the biggest advocate for this. Life can be challenging enough and you don’t need people who suck out your energy and happiness. Let go of such people, even if they are family, friends or romantic partners.
