The Fabulous Girl Foundation in association with South African Civil Aviation Authority kick starts women’s month in style with the sixth installment of The Fabulous Woman Awards on the 4th of August 2018.
More than 200 women and young girls from all walks of life are set to attend the event. Themed ‘StrongerTogether’, the intimate gala dinner, which will be hosted by the Radisson Blu Hotel Sandton, is the brainchild of the inspirational award-winning businesswoman, philanthropist, author and women empowerment activist, Pontsho Manzi. This year’s awards are set to be better with generous sponsorship by the South African Civil Aviation Authority (SACAA) who have seen the urgent need to grow the Fabulous Girls Foundation and Fabulous Woman Awards brands towards increasing their reach and continue the wonderful work of empowering women and girls, and recognising their efforts at the Fabulous Woman Awards. The awards are about bridging the intergenerational gap amongst women and the overt promotion of ethical womanhood.
Every year, the Fabulous Girls Foundation hosts girls from various townships around Gauteng at the awards following intense image management workshops, entrepreneurship training and career guidance interventions throughout the year. These interventions uncover stars during the year from school we visit whom we invite to the awards and award their effort under often seemingly insurmountable odds. This year’s guests of honour will be girls from Tembisa in the Ekurhuleni Metro Municipality. The highlights of the evening, besides the awards and entertainment, will be inspirational keynote addresses by prominent businesswomen and female corporate executives whose work is worthy of emulation by all women, especially the young girls invited. The young women will get to rub shoulders with the crème de la crème of SA business and corporate world, and be presented with opportunities to find mentors while being assisted with bursaries to tertiary institutions in 2019.
While the evening is about inspiration and the tackling of critical issues pertaining to women upliftment, empowerment and ethical womanhood, the 6th Annual fabulous Woman Awards 2018 will as usual be a glamorous affair with entertainment galore. The evening will be one to remember for the young Tembisa high school girls who will sit amongst their role models in the business and entertainment world in a clear signal that their lives matter and that the women who have gone before them to blaze the trail acknowledge their presence and stand waiting to pass on the baton.
