The habits you have in the morning can set the tone for the rest of the day. Why not kick-start a more productive and great day with morning habits some successful people swear by?

While some of us snooze almost three times before we begrudgingly get out of bed and dash out of our homes to 15 minutes later because we are almost running late for work, many successful people have already begun their days either through medidation or tasks they had set beforehand. Infact, successful people, like Beyonce, Michelle Obama and Oprah reportedly start their days…wait for it as early as 4:30am with meditation and workouts. No matter how different the approach is for successful people to achieve their goals, the common factor for all of them is discipline. Yes, since I also want a taste of the successf I have defined for myself and after a lot of research, I found four morning rituals succesful people swear by that I plan to implement:

Have enough sleep the night before: Contrary to what many people, like me, think, a lack of sleep does not guarantee success but will sure impact your health. Many successful people, like Huffington Post co-founder Arianna Huffington and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos advocate for and swear by at least the recommended eight hours of sleep for adults. So, ditch the bad habit of sleepless nights and allow your brain and body to rest.

Hydrate your body: Majority, if not all of us, start our morning with a cup of coffee (or latte, expresso or cappuccino); however, a glass of water is recommended as it hydrates your body and helps with your metabolism, plust, it’s a healthier option. Start your day with a glass or two of water to see if it won’t make a difference.

Invest in a journal: Pen down everything you want to achieve and even are grateful for in your journal. Let it be your a texual vision board. Don’t forget to write your daily tasks, including meetings, CV updates and proposals, you have to tackle.

Start with the hardests tasks: Take advantage of a refreshed mind by starting your day with the hardest or daunting task. Not only will you get it out of the way sooner, but it will also give you motivation to tackle other goals to tick off.

There are a number of morning habits to develop and stick to if you want to be successful in your career or business path, it’s a matter of finding what works for you. No matter the habit, make it work for you.
