2017 is almost coming to an end, but it’s not too late to make it a memorable year. These are five ways you can make the most of the year
It’s hard to believe that the year will wrap up in eleven weeks. To some, it might seem like a lifetime away but many of us seem to chase the impossible speed of wind ticking off goals we have set at the beginning of the year. Whether you gave up along the way or experienced hurtful things there’s a lot that can still happen in 2017, things that can change your life for the better. Choose to create memories that will make you happy for the next few weeks. This is how you can make that happen
Do things and be with people who make you happy: If your place of work isn’t one of them, try to change your attitude and find something…anything that will make you enjoy going to work. If you are really miserable there hustle hard for other work opportunities that you can start 2018 with. Also, take a side hobby that you enjoy after work or on weekends. Doing something you love and being in the presence of people who genuinely care for you does give you a sense of purpose.
Plan your days: It’s not unusual for many people to overwhelm themselves with a lot of workload to meet deadlines. Then there are office parties, holidays to plan and Christmas shopping to do. I don’t know how our mothers did it, but I have learned that there is no such thing as a superwoman. You can’t do it all without breaking down at some point. Plan your work and social schedule accordingly and learn to say no if you have too much on your own plate.
Go back to your bucket list: If you feel there are things you can still tick off, then don’t waste any more time. If you wanted to have that overdue weekend away or set up an appointment to make that million Rand business proposal (that you copyrighted of course) then go for it. You really have nothing to lose.
Do something special for the next person: Oprah Winfrey advocates giving and sharing. Life and success are much sweeter when shared. Do something special for the less privileged and your family. Surprise your partner with a thoughtful gift or do something nice for your colleagues. That can really go a long way.
Let it go: This is one of the best things you can do for yourself. Let go of all the pain and negativity that consumed your life and happiness this year. Let go of that crappy relationship or those toxic friends. Most importantly, let go of caring what your haters think or say about you. They are just a sign that you are doing something right.
