Universal Music Group and Family Tree Record Label owner Cassper Nyovest announced a partnership to release a new kwaito album
The Gets Getsa rapper will bring his independent label, Family Tree, to Universal Music Group to pursue further growth in his music venture.

Through the partnership, Cassper will release his first Kwaito inspired offering, Sweet and Short with the pre-order launching on Friday, 16 November and the nine-track album will be released on 30 November.
Taking the news to Instagram, he said, “The kwaito sound has been very influential in My music and for a very long time fans have asked for a full kwaito project. I finally gave in and decided to keep it sweet and short, nice and simple. #SweetAndShort dropping on the 1st of December at Moses Mabhida.”
He also mentioned in another post, “I would like to take this time to announce that my company, Family Tree Media has signed a partnership deal with Universal Africa. This deal was tailored 2 what I wanted. Lesson? Build it till it’s worth something&then you get to call the shots!!!”

The album will include the hits Hase Mo States, Gets Getsa 2.0 and the brand new single, Sponono Sam featuring Shwi No Mtekhala. About the partnership Cassper said, “This deal came after me feeling like I have reached a plateau in my country and my space as an independent business owner.”
