It’s possible to get more things done without overworking yourself. Here are five ways you can be productive this week without working yourself to the bone

To some of us there aren’t enough hours in a day to get things done. Having a successful career often means leaving home early and getting home after hours. Here’s how to be productive this week by not overworking yourself:

Prioritise important tasks: Make use of your daily planner and stick to it. Prioritise work and meetings you want to get out the way and stick to a deadline that you create for yourself.

Take regular breaks: Your brain needs regular breaks in order to be more alert and productive. Working for a long period of time without taking a break decreases productivity. Make sure you regularly get off your chair to take a 10- minute walk or coffee break.

Avoid the temptation to multi-task: If anything, multi-tasking doesn’t get you anywhere. Not only does it waste time but you become less productive. Focus on completing one task at a time.

Try not to get distracted: Put your phone on silence and avoid the urge to check your social media pages during working hours. Also, set time to check and respond to e-mails.

Track what you spend most of your time on: If it’s work-related than that’s a good thing, but if not use that time to get as much work as possible. Sometimes we complain about not having time without realising that we often waste it on unimportant things.
