We are almost wrapping up 2017 and most of us are  exhausted from the year’s hustling. This is how to recharge when you can’t afford to take a break from work

If, like me, you were able to tick off some of your career or business bucket lists this year big up to you. Being career driven can be exhausting as you barely make time for your social life. Climbing the corporate ladder towards that dream job title takes a lot of hard work and discipline and if you stretch yourself too far, you will burnout. If this is how you are feeling now, make use of our recommended tips to rejuvenate before the year ends:

Cut back on the hours: Working hard sometimes means putting in extra hours to your day so you can go beyond your job description. Dedicate this week to working according to the company’s trading hours and knock off with everyone else. Also challenge yourself to sleep normal hours; those eight hours of sleep can make a difference to your energy and health.

Do something different: Routine is as tiring as it is boring. Try to do something different or take up that hobby that you’ve had at the back of your mind for some time. It could include anything from dining out at a new restaurant to taking yoga classes.

Learn to say no: Just for a few days don’t do beyond what is required of you, at work or at home. Go with the flow and avoid taking too much work, as well as checking up on e-mails at home.

Relax: When was the last time you relaxed in your bed the whole day? Dedicate a weekend where you rest and catch up on your favourite movies with nothing but your favourite meal and pyjamas.

How else do you recharge your energy?
