Set your alarms, as the Grammy-winning musician returns to the land that inspired his latest album, bringing more energy and unforgettable performances.

Renowned musician and Grammy Award-winning artist, PJ Morton, is set to electrify South Africa once again this September with his highly anticipated “Cape Town To Cairo Tour”. After the resounding success of his previous sold-out shows in the country, Morton is returning with a renewed passion, larger-than-life performances, and a connection to the country deeper than ever before. He tells us more:

KDM: Share with us which cities you will perform at.

PJ Morton: Will be performing on 6 September at the Concert Hall in Cape Town’s Baxter Theatre Centre. On 7 September, I will head to Durban’s iZulu Theatre at the Sibaya Casino & Entertainment Kingdom and will head to Mushroom Farm Park in Sandton, Johannesburg, on 8 September.

KDM: What’s the significance behind bringing your tour to South Africa?

PJ Morton: I really wanted to circle back to the place that inspired the new album. It feels surreal to be right back to the place that I was in less than a year ago, writing a complete album. There’s just such a connection now. I’m looking forward to it.

KDM: What can fans expect from this tour?

PJ Morton: Fans can expect an even bigger band. More energy and new music mixed in with all the other songs people love.

KDM: Any opening acts we can expect?

PJ Morton: Definitely, the Johannesburg show will feature special performances by local talents Mandisi Dyantis and Wandile Mbambeni. This collaboration is important for me as it shows my respect and appreciation for South African artists.
