It’s difficult to live a purposeful life if you haven’t found what you are passionate about. Here are five ways to discover your passion.
I have learned that finding your purpose is synonymous with doing something you are passionate about. If by now you still don’t know what you want to do or be it’s time to do a lot of soul-searching. Not that there is any pressure, but you have to start planning the life you have always wanted to live from when you were younger. From a very young age, I knew that I wanted to create a positive impact using words. I loved writing and I still have big visions for my passion. If you haven’t discovered what your passion is, use our suggested tips to help you identify it:
List things that you enjoy doing and would volunteer for free: Document things that you feel fulfilled doing. If an opportunity presents itself would you volunteer your skills for free?
Put in the effort: some people find it easy to discover their passion or their purpose while it takes a while for others to know what they are truly called here on earth to do. It’s up to you to be observant of causes and career fields that mean a lot to you.
What topics do you enjoy engaging in or books you love reading? If you zone out when your friends talk about certain issues and lead the conversation when you start another topic it could lead you to your passion.
What subjects did you excel in and loved at school? That is one of the foundations that could lead you to where you are meant to be, career-wise.
Don’t be hard on yourself: Finding something you are passionate about can take time and mistakes. Find inspiration from traveling or doing things that are out of your comfort zone. And while you are at it enjoy the little and big things that life has to offer.
